Washing and treating our terracotta
Terracotta washing and treatment of are the culmination of our long working process. The beauty of the flooring shall be the sum of three components: material, installation and treatment.
It is very important not to rush treatments and to wash flooring only when you are sure that they are dry enough. Washing wet flooring can cause oxidation and difficult to remove spots.
Here are the steps for processing terracotta pieces and floors:
-
Alkaline Wash: Tends to degrease the floor from organic substances as well as bring out the colours of the pieces.
-
Acid Wash: Removes marks from grouting and widens the pores, preparing them to absorb the treatment.
-
Anti-lift water repellent.
-
Wax or oil-repellent wax blends in several coats and after one day.
-
Satin anti-wear, glossy or matte finish.
-
Supply of maintenance data sheets and maintenance products at no cost for the first year, as well as an info-line for any clarification or assistance and a written anti-spot guarantee.
